A shower that drips, runs cold, or has seen better days is one of the jobs AquaTec Plumbing & Heating is asked to take on most weeks in Rotherham. We work from Moorgate Road and cover the town and surrounding areas. We replace showers, sort the pipework behind them, and take on the bathroom plumbing that sits around a tray, a bath or a basin. We are plumbers, not a showroom - if you want a full design-and-tile package, say so and we will tell you what we actually do.
Most shower replacements are one of three problems: the valve is failing, the electric unit is noisy or tripping, or the tray and seal have given up and water is getting into the floor. Sometimes it looks like a shower fault and turns out to be low pressure, a scaled-up head, or a pump. That is why a photo and the make of the unit help before we set off. Electric showers, mixer showers and pumped showers are different jobs; we will not order the wrong one off the title on a listing.
A typical swap means isolating the water (and the electric if it is an electric shower), stripping the old unit, checking the supply sizes and the waste, fitting the new shower, making the connections watertight, and testing flow and temperature. If the tray, screen or silicone is the real leak, replacing the valve alone will not fix it. We will say that on the day rather than fit a new shower onto a rotten tray.
Bathroom plumbing beyond the shower - a new basin, a tap that will not shut, a bath that will not empty, a leaking waste, or a toilet that keeps running - is the same visit or a booked follow-on, depending on how wet the room is. If the ceiling below is staining, treat it as urgent and use the emergency plumber page. A slow drip you can catch in a bowl can wait for a booked slot.
We have not listed prices. An electric shower on good existing supplies is a different figure from a mixer shower that needs new pipework, a pump, or a tray. Ask for a quote. If you have already bought the shower, say so - we can often fit customer-supplied units, but we will still need to see whether the plumbing and electrics match what you have in the box. Electric work must be done properly; if the job needs a registered electrician for the isolator or consumer unit, we will not skate over that.
Rotherham is the base. We cover the surrounding areas and will come into Sheffield for this kind of work as a service area, not from a second office. If the bathroom is part of a wider heating job - a boiler repair, a new boiler feeding a mixer shower, or a heat pump and a new cylinder - tell us at the start so we do not fit a shower that the system cannot drive.
